After MoveOn.org issued a call for rallies in every state capital and in large cities across the country, local activists and the Labor Council joined together to host the San Diego Rally to Save the American Dream with the theme "We Are One!" Union members, community organizations, and neighbors joined together to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a neighborhood clean up project. The tongue-in-cheek protest featured dozens of “loyal subjects” in blonde wigs, “Queen Meg's” close friends Mr. Goldman and Mr. Sachs, and calls for a coronation rather than election as Whitman pledges to spend up to $150 million to buy her way into office.
