California State Senator Christine Kehoe and Assembly Member Lori Saldaña have been named the Labor Council’s Legislative Heroes of the Month.
Both legislators were given 100 percent voting records in 2007 by the California Labor Federation.
Only 15 of 120 state legislatures received 100 percent voting records.
Senator Kehoe and Assemblywoman Saldaña voted for working families when they voted for health care reform, the Firefighter’s Bill of Rights, employee lockout protections, indoor heat illness protection, expansion of family and medical leave job protections and child care provider protections, among more than 30 floor votes.
Senator Kehoe finished the 2007 legislative session with a lifetime voting record of 99 pecent, with a 100 percent record on committee votes. Assemblywoman Saldaña continued her 100 percent lifetime voting record both on the floor and in committee.
With tough votes on the 2008 horizon, continued support from both legislators will be needed.
The 120,000 families of the Labor Council thank Senator Kehoe and Assemblywoman Saldaña for their support.
