UFCW Local 135 Secretary-Treasurer Appointed to California Board of Pharmacy

Rosalyn Hackworth, secretary-treasurer for the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 135, has been appointed by Assembly Speaker Karen Bass as a public member of the California Board of Pharmacy.

In her position with UFCW Local 135, Hackworth represents pharmacists who are employed in major grocery and drug store chains in San Diego County.

She also serves as a trustee for multiple benefit and pension trust funds in Southern California and is currently the Labor & Industry Chair for the North San Diego County NAACP; a proud wish granter for the Make-A-Wish Foundation for the last few years; a member of the UFCW Minority Coalition; a member of the UFCW Women’s Network, and a member of the North County African American Women’s Association.

The Board of Pharmacy protects and promotes the health and safety of Californians by pursuing the highest quality of pharmacist’s care and the appropriate use of pharmaceuticals through education, communication, licensing, legislation, regulation, and enforcement.

Hackworth’s position on the board runs until June 1, 2012.
