Patrick Pierce
Patrick Pierce, Director of Media and Membership Outreach, joined the San Diego and Imperial Counties Labor Council in October 2011.
Labor is in his blood as he comes from a family with four generations of union plumbers (Plumbers Local #8 in Kansas City, Mo.) and two generations of united autoworkers (UAW Local 249 in Kansas City, Mo.). Patrick knows the value of hard work and fair play because he has lived the labor movement every single day of his life.
Born and raised in the Kansas City area, he graduated from Grain Valley High School before attending and graduating from America’s first and the world’s finest journalism school in the Missouri School of Journalism at the University of Missouri – Columbia.
Prior to joining to the Labor Council, Patrick worked as a PR/Communications consultant in San Diego. He is a former sports broadcaster on television and radio which included stops in Columbia, Mo. and West Monroe, La. While in the Show-Me State, Patrick served as County Director on a U.S. Congressional race in 2004. He was elected as a Jackson County Committeeman for Sni-A-Bar Township in 2006, the same year he ran for state representative in Missouri’s 55th State House District.
Patrick’s Midwestern, Heartland of America values and experiences make him proud to call San Diego home, which he and his wife have since 2009.
A member of OPEIU Local 537, Patrick is excited about helping working people and families in San Diego and Imperial Counties.
