Dear Senator Feinstein,
During tough economic times such as what our country faces today, it is crucial that we do all we can to support the middle class. I believe that allowing workers a fair choice in joining a union is critical in ensuring that all Americans are able to provide for themselves and their families.
Joining a union has become more and more difficult as companies spend millions of dollars a year in union-busting attorneys and activities. The current system for joining a union is broken, and leaves millions of workers unable to reach the American dream.
To rebuild our economy, workers who choose to join a union must be given a fair opportunity to do so. The Employee Free Choice Act will allow workers, not companies, to decide what is best for their future.
Sixty million Americans say they would join a union if they could. The problem is that the process is skewed to favor the company rather than the average worker. Until this problem is addressed, workers will never be able to choose to improve their lives through unionization.
On behalf of workers all across the state, I urge you to support the Employee Free Choice Act and the American worker.
Sincerely,
Anthony Saavedra
