The San Diego Labor Council Delegates serve as the connection between union and labor’s grassroots coordination of political and community activities.
Our Delegates uphold a strong tradition of fighting for equality, justice and better conditions for working people in our communities. Together with the Labor Council Executive Board, organizing and political staff, Delegates assist with the coordination of community outreach efforts, political campaigns and policy and legislative initiatives.
Do you want to become a Delegate?
Depending on the union, delegates are either appointed or elected to represent their brothers and sisters at Labor Council meetings and programs. Delegates are required to attend monthly meetings and may also serve on formal and informal committees at the Council. Contact your union’s Political or Organizing department for more information on how you can become a Delegate.
