Cross-Border Days of Solidarity
As the governments of the United States, Mexico, and Canada actively negotiate new rules for the global economy, the Trump administration and others are pursuing a rigged agenda that puts the interests of billionaires and corporations ahead of working people, family farmers and the environment in North America and beyond.
In response, people are coming together across borders and across issue areas to say “Enough!”
In June 2026, activists and civil society organizations in all three countries will be mobilizing in Days of Solidarity that:
Reject attempts to pit working people in the U.S., Mexico and Canada against one another in an ongoing race-to-the-bottom;
Demonstrate that communities across North America have shared interests, including good-paying jobs, a healthy environment, sovereignty and more; and
Demand that governments prioritize the needs of people and communities ahead of the power and profits of greedy corporations.
When:
Saturday, June 27, 2026
11:00am - 1:00pm
Where:
Chicano Park Museum and Cultural Center
1960 National Ave, San Diego, CA. 92113

May Day is more than a date on the calendar. It's our day.
For more than a century, workers around the world have taken to the streets on May 1 to demand dignity, justice, and power. This year, we bring that tradition home to San Diego.
Join the San Diego & Imperial Counties Labor Council, our affiliated unions, and community allies for a powerful rally and march to celebrate the working class and demand a world that works for all of us—not just billionaires and politicians who serve them.
We are organizing. We are striking. We are building power in our workplaces and our communities. May Day is our reminder that when we stand together, we win.

Unionizing Starbucks Baristas in Santee!
From Naomi, a local Starbucks Workers United (SBWU) Organizer:
Workers at the Starbucks in Santee, CA are voting in their union election on April 20, 2026. For nearly a month, they’ve faced intense union-busting: an influx of management and fear-mongering one-on-ones from corporate Labor Relations. These workers are exhausted and scared, and they need visible solidarity from the community to vote YES.
We’re asking union members in or near Santee to stop by the store throughout the week to deliver messages of encouragement and share stories of how their union has been a cornerstone in their lives.
Thursday, April 16: An open invite is already on the graphic, but if a small group of 5+ workers can visit together, I’d love to meet there, say hello, and take a solidarity photo. I’m flexible on time!
Any other day/time this week: Even general visits from union allies and members would be a huge boost in these final days. If workers can commit times or send pictures from the store, that works great.
Please let me know if you can help coordinate or spread the word. Thank you for standing with Santee workers, and for always being a fantastic ally to SBWU workers in San Diego.
In solidarity,
Naomi Martinez, SBWU Organizer

Cross Border Worker-to-Worker Meet-Up w/ LSAN
Cross Border Worker-to-Worker Meet-Up
The Labor Solidarity Action Network (LSAN) is a cross-border coalition of unions and worker organizations dedicated to strengthening worker-to-worker ties between San Diego and Baja California.
This gathering is our annual cross-border, worker-to-worker meet-up at the Casa Obrera office in Tijuana. This is an important opportunity to deepen cross-border solidarity, strengthen long-term relationships with labor partners in Baja California, and create space for workers to share strategies around workplace rights, economic justice, and collective power. Each year, this event provides meaningful and eye-opening experiences for San Diego union members who learn directly from workers organizing on the other side of the border.
Would you or someone from your union want a free seat on the bus to attend this historic meeting?
If so, contact ISOAVERY@gmail.com

‘Red Alert’ Hospital Tour in Oceanside to Save Hospitals, Protect Patients
Join us on Feb. 21 for the nurses’ national hospital tour to build power and community support across the country, with a goal of saving vulnerable U.S. hospitals from cuts or closure. Together, nurses, patients, and our allies are fighting back against this cruelty, demanding a healthy society based on care and compassion.
This is a community-wide, family-friendly event with activities, a free children’s book, and free tacos while supplies last! There will also be a mobile health clinic staffed by nurses providing free wellness checks from 11am to 4pm. The rally will start at 12pm.
